Call to Artists - Public Bin Design

CALLING ALL ARTISTS! Yonge-Dundas Square is seeking design proposals to wrap 10 public waste bins in partnership with Mural Routes.

Submission Highlights

  • Artists are asked to submit a design proposal that will wrap all public bins on Yonge-Dundas Square.

  • Artists are asked to submit designs that utilize vibrant colour and imagery.

  • The design process will include one (1) initial design, with one (1) round of revisions before the final design.

  • Installation will be arranged and completed by Yonge-Dundas Square. Scope of work includes design ONLY.

Submission Requirements

  • Artists interested in this project must prepare and submit a Proposed Artwork Concept for the bench installation. This proposal shall include conceptual design drawings and/or sketches, sufficient to communicate the artist concept.

  • CV or resume including current contact information and outline of previous artistic experience

  • 3-5 images of previously completed work

Compensation

The chosen artist will be paid $1500

Project Timeline

  • Monday, March 13 – Deadline for Submissions

  • Friday, March 24 – Successful Artist Contacted & Contract Issues

  • Friday, March 31 – First Round of Designs Due

  • Monday, April 17 – Final Digital Design Due

  • May 1-15 – Artwork Installed
