Yonge-Dundas Square announces departure of General Manager Taylor Raths

July 27, 2020

Yonge-Dundas Square Board of Management announced today that long time General Manager Taylor Raths will be leaving his position with the City agency at the end of 2020 after working with the Board for over 15 years.

“Taylor’s long-term commitment to Yonge-Dundas Square and the downtown Yonge community has contributed substantially to the revitalization efforts of the neighbourhood and the successful transformation of one of Canada’s most prominent public spaces” said Yonge-Dundas Square Board Chair, Michael Fenton.  “We thank Taylor for his years of dedication in serving the city and our community.”

In acknowledgment of the decision Taylor Raths said, “It has been a great privilege to be in this position for such a length of time.  The experience has been a wonderful journey for me but I also welcome this long planned change in my life and I look forward to starting a new chapter.”

During Taylor Raths’ tenure as General Manager, Yonge-Dundas Square hosted thousands of events and gatherings while expanding its annual operating budget to more than $3.5 million.  The Board of Management will begin its search for a new General Manager this summer and Taylor Raths will continue to work with the Board to ensure a successful transition later in 2020.
