#HotSquareSummer

A full season of free weekly events at Sankofa Square

For the first time, we’re introducing a full season of curated weekly programming, bringing a new rhythm to the heart of downtown. From June through early September, the Square comes alive with music, film, wellness, markets, and cultural celebrations that reflect the energy of the city.

Always free. Always open. Always for everyone.

The season’s signature moment

SankofaFest returns for its second year as a three-day celebration of art, culture, and community. Curated by D.PE Agency, the festival brings together performances, installations, film, and community-led programming.

The weekend culminates in Sankofa Day (August 23), marking UNESCO’s International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, a time for reflection, healing, and looking forward.
